WHITE OUT
The high use of white expands the image beyond its physical dimensions. The world of color lies just beyond. Available, limitless. Sometimes a painting can transcend the physical restrictions of height and width and the third dimension of depth is created transporting the viewer beyond the canvas surface. There is no subject matter to distract from the visual journey.
AND THEN
Red is powerful, Red is passion. Every space needs a touch of red to remind us that it is easy to turn to the awful condition of “good taste”. This painting is a rebellion of exuberance against a monotone world of grey. Like a child with a red crayon, the artist has embraced the “why not” of his red crayon rather than the “you shouldn’t”. The red glaze allows the viewer to see deeper and the white circles emerge with the message of “and then”. This is not one thing, but many that you can experience, a different shade 0f life — a semi-colon symbol that says continue on.
Not intended to be a secondary art piece in the design of an interior space, AND THEN is the star of the room. Not passive, it is the statement of life’s excrement that raises the temperature and attitude of the viewer. Ignite the fire in the belly, if you dare.
