There is a scientific definition and then there are timeless moments connecting living moments which seem to illustrate an unfolding of life. This is the botanical life I see.
I use this vision of botanical life unfolding to illustrate the same wordless communion seen in shivers of sunlight, ripples of water or shadows revealing the visibility of new patterns. I collect my visuals with the mechanics of a camera. Focus, color and light provide emotional designs through the camera lens. I am left with images that continue speaking — wordlessly — as I hang them on the walls of my home.
The images give movement to my life. They inspire “ah-hah” moments and they have nothing to do with the scientific definition of who they are. That is botanical art.
