Black on white – SMBLS art is stripped down human communication with no artifice and no hidden message. The future/past inspired art by OWEN creates a dynamic that inspires the viewer with messaging as direct as the primitive ocher imprint of a hand on a prehistoric cave wall. 
Each work is titled with a one-word description that evokes the essence of the message. From the evocative stick figure with a slightly raised hand titled “friend” to the radiant circle with a the primitive simplicity of a petroglyph thousands of years old called “sol”, each work transcends the mundane and the paint speaks in the language of the human experience.
The original art is executed in black acrylic on white board or canvas. The large works are hung as tapestries to float and move with air currents. The smaller groupings are presented in a grid where the overall design combines with the individual images to create a dynamic wall graphic that is both modern and primitive at the same time. The groupings and individual works are framed in the contemporary minimalist “edge” frame that is the trademark framing treatment of Mulberry Gallery.
Limited edition prints are available in both original black on white or reversed white or black background. Edition size is limited to 10 and is available in 16″ x 16″ or 20″ x 24″ with or without edge framing.
