For me, here at Mulberry Gallery, the season of holiday always draws me into the warmth of family and friend. I love the warmth of giving. Selecting just the right gift to express love and appreciation is a time honored tradition with me. One of my absolute favorite gifts to give is the photo frame. Here is a bit about the Art of Photo Frame Giving.
First I imagine the recipient’s lifestyle. Is he urban? Does she love hiking? Is my recipient a grandparent, an ocean lover or minimal in taste? I view my photo frame as a design within which I place my message; an image or a quote.
For example, here we have our “Autumn Trails” photo frame design. These distressed wood frames remind one of walking through California redwoods or trails strewn with fallen Maple leave. These frames are at home on a wooden table in a library, a country barn or a farmhouse filled with handmade furnishings. These frames feel rugged and reflect the naturalness of outdoor life.
In contrast we have a beach collection called Silver Frost. These frames are also distressed and feel like they’ve been washed over with an ocean tide. They are equally at home with a coastal look, a vintage look, bohemian and eclectic environments.
My last illustration is called Savior Charcoal. Here we can land in a contemporary setting. Although this is an urban look a dorm room is equally well suited. The lines of this frame are elegant, simple and understated with a bit of sophistication.
And finally, the message carried by the photo frame. This is the fun part. In a way, the image becomes the voice of the frame. Images from our phones can serve to share memories of time spent together. Perhaps it’s a sunset, a favorite cat or dog moment, or the memories of time spent with a younger member of our families.
This is how we frame our memories, and, in the opinion of Mulberry Gallery, placed into a photo frame they make the best gifts.
