I am drawn to the abstract form because it requires the viewer to bring their concept of art to the viewing experience. I like to say that “The abstract fascinates the mind.” Unlike a representative piece of art, the abstract produces a dialogue between the viewer and the art starting with the seminal question of, “Do I like it?” and finishing with, “Why?”
Where others see black and white, I see color. When they see color, I see gray. The landscape of my mind is littered with visions.
The vision becomes reality when the paint becomes the painting. Welcome to the abstract world of Owen Crawford.
